On November 1st, the D.C. City Council gave initial approval to B21-38, legislation that would legalize assisted suicide. This bill is discriminatory because it would disproportionately target poor and vulnerable persons including senior citizens and those with disabilities and mental health challenges, often denying them appropriate health care, legal safeguards and choices on how they live their lives.
B21-38 would allow doctors to prescribe a lethal dose of drugs to patients who have been deemed mentally competent and received a terminal diagnosis. Click here to learn more about this dangerous legislation.
Here are a few ways can you help us tell the D.C. Council that this bill is flawed, unsafe and wrong for D.C.
